Historically, altar bells were used by religious groups, especially Catholics, to create joyous noise in offering to the Lord. If we turn to It's A Wonderful Life, they say, "Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings." The common thread here seems to be that bells are often a spiritual expression of something good, in offering to something divine.
This Triple Goddess Altar Bell depicts the the maiden, the mother and the crone as the waxing, full and waning moon. The symbolism here is tied deeply to the divine feminine, as it follows her through her life cycle: a young, growing girl; a fully-developed, fully-empowered divine woman; and a wise, experienced elder. Ringing this bell could be said to honor the divine feminine energy.
