Web Manager

COMPENSATION:  $15 per hour plus profit commission + $1 per hour for parking + 20% store discount

JOB DESCRIPTION:  The web manager position reports to the Owner and will be required to work 4-5 days per week for a total of 20-24 hours per week.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Keyholder - responsible for locking/unlocking the shop at open/close.

  • Team Accountability - responsible for showing up to work as scheduled, on time; trying to set fellow employees up for success with clear and honest communication, explanation of outstanding/ongoing tasks for the day, cleaning up after yourself.

  • Schedule - responsible for communication conflicts and planned vacations as soon as possible by adding them to the time off calendar, keeping extra time off at or under 2 weeks per year. Each employee will (usually) have 2 days off per week. Schedules are usually posted one month in advance.

  • Website - updating, refreshing, and keeping it up-to-date. Communicating with the owner in relation to all parts of the website. Coming up with new and fresh ideas for making the website look better and function better (more user-friendly).

  • Product Upload - uploading new products to the website including dimensions, weight, descriptions, photos, and videos. Making sure spelling and grammar are correct on all platforms along with clear and crisp photos. Working closely with the Store Manager when new products come in.

  • Inventory - compare Hike to BigCommerce with inventory items. Deleting any one-of-a-kind items from inventory on both platforms. Be sure that Hike and BigCommerce are synced and talking to one another.

  • Social Media - operate all social media platforms, streamline brand, with the goal of boosting sales. Work with the owner to establish a marketing calendar based heavily on social media. Run Instagram sales page and main page by responding to customers and posting items every week.

  • E-mail Marketing - send out weekly newsletters with MailChimp. Organize, draft, and send newsletters pertaining to sales, events, offerings, and overall happenings at the shop. 

  • Open Communication - update all staff members weekly on website offerings and/or plans. Work closely with the Store Manager to ensure everyone is on the same page. Keep open and clear communication with the owner.

  • Shipping - in charge of completing all website orders in a timely fashion. Making sure items get pulled off of the sales floor then wrapped, labeled, and shipped. Submitting requests to the post office for pickup of packages.

  • Blog Posts - responsible for writing a weekly blog post while working with the owner on topics and timelines. Organizing and publishing a weekly blog post from the Store Manager.

  • e-Books - create e-Books quarterly as an offering on our website. Organize, create, and publish e-Book while working with the owner and Store Manager.

  • Videos - able to create short engaging videos on all social platforms. Boost our YouTube channel with educational offerings.

  • Equipment - agrees to be mindful when handling all shop equipment including computer and iPad. Shop equipment is for work purposes only, do not use for personal items unless approved by owner.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Passion for spiritual realm, some knowledge of our products, strong online customer service skills, experience with Instagram, being on camera, Adobe Suite, e-Commerce platforms, e-mail marketing

 

Strongly Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of our products, background in herbalism, reiki, witchcraft, mysticism, tarot, and/or gemstones, understanding of feng shui

Sales Associate

COMPENSATION:  $13 per hour plus profit commission + $1 per hour for parking + 20% store discount

JOB DESCRIPTION:  The sales associate position reports to the Store Manager and will be required to work 4-5 days per week with 4.5 hour shifts.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Keyholder - responsible for locking/unlocking shop at open/close.

  • Daily Finances - responsible for opening/closing cash drawer and ensuring cash deposit and floating drawer are proper, places deposit in safe at end of night, gets change as needed.

  • Customer Interaction + Satisfaction - responsible for customer experience, including answering any questions, making recommendations, holding space, as well as facilitating transactions, properly + safely wrapping purchases and sending them home with relevant information papers.

  • Team Accountability - responsible for showing up to work as scheduled, on time; trying to set fellow employees up for success with clear and honest communication, explanation of outstanding/ongoing tasks for the day, cleaning up after yourself and completing daily duties efficiently.

  • Opening and Closing Duties - responsible for completing all tasks on opening, daily, and/or closing to do lists.

  • General Cleaning and Tidying - responsible for basic upkeep of the shop. Wiping down glass and tables, adjusting messy displays, cleaning up spills, and cleaning up after yourself.

  • Tasks and Projects - may include tagging, hanging dreamcatchers, assisting with live events and sales, assisting with order fulfillment. 

  • Daily Duties - each month the daily duties will change and shuffle between the Sales Associates. You will be responsible for specific duties during each month. You may have daily or weekly duties or both.

  • Snake Care - while sales associates are not ever required to handle Sutra, we are all responsible for maintaining his water dish and misting during his sheds, neither of which require direct contact.

  • Phone Calls and Text Messages - responsible for answering calls and texts from customers. If subject matter requires management, pass along name and contact information with message to manager or owner.
